DURAFOR is a groupof economic interest (g.i.e.) conformed by forest producers located in the centre of the República Oriental del Uruguay, department of Durazno, covering an area of approximately 15.000 hectares mainly planted with Eucalyptus sp.
The plantations are certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) since 2006 and therefore handled considering a joint forest management with environmental, social and economic responsibility according to the Principles and Criteria of the FSC.
DURAFOR g.i.e. is the biggest Uruguayan group of forest producers that has managed to certify by FSC and to successfully coordinate the commercialization of wood with the FSC trademark reaching different markets throughout the world.
DURAFOR g.i.e. has established from its beginnings its environmental and social commitment with society, and since 2006 it is guided by the international norms of the FSC, being totally committed with their philosophy.
